The Department of State (DOS) has posted the August Visa Bulletin. USCIS then determined that for August 2024, applicants in all family-sponsored preference categories must use the Dates for Filing chart and all employment-based preference (EB) categories must use the Final Action Dates chart to determine if their priority date is current. The DOS also included a note in the Bulletin indicating that demand in the EB-3 category remains high with further retrogression of the final action date possible. EB-3 could go unavailable in September – before the new fiscal year starts in October.
