Mareena Haque is an attorney in our employment-based immigration practice. She has experience working with clients to prepare nonimmigrant visa cases, including F-1 STEM Training applications, and H-1B and O-1 petitions. She also has experience working on immigrant visa petitions, including National Interest Waivers.
Mareena graduated from UC Law San Francisco with a concentration in Social Justice Lawyering. During law school, she served as the Co-President of the National Muslim Law Students Association. She successfully represented a client from Honduras in affirmative asylum proceedings as a part of the Refugee and Human Rights Clinic. She was recognized for Outstanding Achievement in Pro Bono for her work with immigration nonprofits, including helping clients at naturalization clinics, visiting detention centers, and conducting client intakes.
Prior to law school, Mareena earned her MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management with specializations in Executive Development and Social Impact. She spent two years working as an auditor in BDO’s Asset Management Practice and has experience working within Strategic HR and the nonprofit space.
Mareena’s previous experience in business and her lived experience as a daughter of immigrants allow her to connect with and relate to her clients on a deeper level.
