Team Legal Assistant

Van Der Hout LLP is a nationally renowned, full-service immigration and nationality law firm located at San Francisco’s Union Square. The firm was founded in 1980, and it now has 35+ staff (attorneys, paralegal and admin support). It represents clients in a wide range of immigration matters. We have an opening for one full-time team legal assistant, who is Spanish/English speaking with 1-3 years of administrative experience.  The position will assist a team of attorneys and paralegals with a wide variety of administrative tasks. 

Ideal candidate must be detailed oriented; possess excellent organizational skills and time management skills. Experience using Word, Excel, and Adobe. Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Calendaring 
  • Intake and Phone Screen Assistance
  • Draft correspondence and court forms  
  • Opening cases
  • Data Entry
  • Assist with court filings 
  • Other administrative assistance as needed or required 


  • 1-3 years of administrative experience; law firm experience highly desired
  • College degree not required but preferred
  • Spanish language proficiency, verbal and written, required
  • Ability to be flexible, adaptive and responsive with constant need and shifting priorities
  • Positive, respectful, and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills and keen attention to detail

Salary: $50,000- $60,000, Depending on experience
