Recently, the firm’s litigation team, led by Partners Johnny Sinodis, Zachary Nightingale, and Marc Van Der Hout, was successful in obtaining a nationwide injunction to protect international students with terminated SEVIS records. This effort was bolstered by the firm’s depth of experience working with student visa holders and representing universities, health care organizations, research institutions, and a wide range of other employers who employ recent graduates.

In late 2024, Minal Shah and Claire Razzolini joined partners Jennifer Shih and Lauren Gibson to expand Van Der Hout LLP’s nationally recognized business and employment-based immigration practice. We continue to grow our business and litigation teams with attorneys and paralegals experienced in a full range of immigration cases. Our fellowship program and law clerk positions provide opportunities for students and recent law graduates to learn the practice up close from seasoned attorneys.

The firm’s commitment to pro bono representation has been unwavering. Partners Johnny Sinodis and Marc Van Der Hout were recently named 2025 Pro Bono Champions for Northern California by the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
