Supreme Court rules that the Biden administration has the authority to reverse the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) policy, also known as the Remain in Mexico policy |

On June 30, 2022, the Supreme Court ruled that the Biden administration had the authority to reverse and stop the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) which was put into place by the Trump administration. Under MPP, some individuals seeking asylum are forced to remain in Mexico while they await their court date in front of an immigration judge in the United States. The Biden administration previous tried to stop this practice, but their efforts were halted by a district court judge in Texas.
