Lauren Gibson has been practicing immigration law since 2000.  She has focused on employment-based immigration, including  temporary work visas and permanent residence.  Ms. Gibson has represented multinational and Fortune 500 companies as well as start-ups and small companies in a wide array of industries, including but not limited to construction, biotechnology, information technology, telecommunications, non-profit, and finance.  She has worked closely with employers on compliance and immigration program management.  She also represents individuals, including researchers, engineers, scientists, and students, among others.

 

Ms. Gibson enjoys working with individuals on family-based immigration petitions, permanent residency applications with USCIS and the US Consulates, and naturalization. She also has experience with asylum applications and previously served as a pro bono mentor for the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights.

 

Ms. Gibson received her J.D. cum laude from UC Law San Francisco (previously UC Hastings) in 1998.  She holds a Bachelor's degree in Latin American Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz.  After receiving her J.D., she served as Coordinating Attorney & Research Fellow for the Expedited Removal Study, a national Ford Foundation funded study of the impact of expedited removal on asylum seekers and foreign nationals.
